Wallaby |
|
Like all kangaroos, the wallaby is a marsupial and lives exclusively in Australia. It is about half the size of its big brother, the Giant Red Kangaroo, but with its length of 75 centimeters (measured without tail) the wallaby is still quite a big fellow. Kangaroos are usually friendly grazers, but the males can be very aggressive among themselves. ![]() At full speed, a wallaby can run about 30 kilometres an hour, with jumps of five metres at a time. It will be clear a wallaby does not fit into a single-family dwelling, and that the average city-garden isn't big enough for him. For an animal that needs so much living space to be housed in accommodation that is too small, can by all means be regarded as cruel. Wallaby's do not defecate in one specific place. They will soil everything with their droppings. On top of this, an aggressive male can be a danger to its owner and the other members of the household. Taking a wallaby into the house will end up in unavoidable tragedy for the animal as well as the people involved.
