The males Khalid & Babel and the females Elia & Nigel were part of the so called 'Dutch eleven', eleven Common marmosets we took in in the summer of 2010. Babel – son of Khalid and Elia – was born just before they were confiscated in France and came to AAP.

Haus des MeeresHaus des Meeres (Austria) was visited in 2010 on a fact-finding trip by one of our Outplacement coordinators. This zoo, located in a World War II anti-aircraft tower in Vienna’s city centre, appeared very interested in co-operating. In its spectacular Tropical House, situated 20 metres off the ground, Haus des Meeres found room for our small group of white eared marmosets.

The animals were taken to Vienna by two of our staff on a nightly trip. The story of this eventful journey will be in our 2011 Summer Apenote. Some webcams will give you an idea of that large tropical hall. The white eared marmosets will have the entire area at their disposal, more than 10 metres high and 15 metres wide.
