What we do - Outplaced until now  |  Wednesday, 01 June 2011

Lodi is a green capuchin monkey who has arrived at AAP in June 2010 after its owner wanted to get rid of him. Soon we found a new place for Lodi on the English south coast in a centre AAP has previously worked with: The Monkey Sanctuary, which specializes in the care of woolly and capuchin monkeys.

Lodi (right) and his new buddy PeppyIn compliance with British regulations he spent the first six months in quarantine. Because the Monkey Sanctuary did not have that possibility, Lodi was placed for six months in an animal shelter in Guernsey (Channel Islands). In November last year, he was brought by Geert Jonkers, Relocation Coordinator, by plane to his temporary housing. Last June the quarantine period came to an end and Lodi could move to The Monkey Sanctuary to finally live with other capuchin monkeys. The homepage of The Monkey Sanctuary website opens with a beautiful picture of Lodi.
