Working at AAP

Aan het werk bij AAPAAP is an international organisation with a beautiful ambition, located on a spacious and modern location, in the middle of the green, near Almere. In rather more than 35 years, AAP has grown from a small volunteer organisation to a medium-sized professional organisation with around 70 people in employment. In addition, volunteer work still holds an important position. There is also place for trainees from various institutes, for example MBO-Dierverzorging, HBO-Diermanagement, HEAO, NME and others.

Nowhere else can you see the result of your work so directly: every animal under our care is recovering. You will work in a close team with diverse activities, form animal care to fund raising, from policymaking to system manager, but all with the same ambition.

AAP's work is not limited to the sanctuary in Almere, but is extended in Europe. The Life Time Care Center Primadomus, our new facility close to Alicante, Spain, will in the next years offer permanent care for a large number of monkeys.

AAP distinguishes itself for an enormous passion, from ambition and a social but also professional culture. Within the diverse and international teams there is an informal and personal atmosphere. Working for AAP requires feeling with a non-commercial organisation in general, and enhancing the well-being of exotic animals in particular.

Paid work

If you are interested in a paid job with AAP, please have a look at our vacancies or send us an unsolicited application letter. We may have jobs available in animal care or in our rescue or outplacement departments, but we also need professionals in lobbying, PR, fundraising, communication, finances, human resources, technical services and project management.

Being a non-commercial organization, we are not always able to pay a competitive salary. However we set great store by involving our employees with AAP and keeping them motivated. We will offer you a responsible job and invest in your development, with possibilities to attend trainings and courses or join (international) exchange programmes.

Volunteering

AAP has been able to grow thanks to the dedication of many volunteers. Voluntary work still takes an important place within AAP, and we are proud of that! Are you interested in working as a volunteer and do you want to play a role in the improvement of the well-being of our animals? Have a look at the volunteer vacancies or ask for our general registration form.
