United we stand

On its own, AAP can't solve the problems with the trade in non-domesticated exotic animals and the way they are being kept. We work together with fellow organisations, governments and scientific institutions everywhere in Europe. Where possible we will also work with the traders, holders and users of exotic animals. They also need to be persuaded that animal welfare and the protection of species is of great importance in their line of business.

Among others we work together with the following partners (this enumeration is not comprehensive):

• AAP is a member of the Eurogroup for Animals. Together we work on improving the well-being of non-domesticated exotic animals within the European Union.
• AAP is a member of the Species Survival Network. Together we work on improving the (implementation of) laws to protect species within the European Union.
• AAP is a member of the Vereniging van Opvangcentra van Niet-gedomesticeerde Dieren (VOND) (The Association of Rescue Centres for Non-domesticated Animals). Together we work on improving the shelter that is offered to non-domesticated animals in the Netherlands.
• AAP Works together with the Coalitie DierenwelzijnsOrganisaties Nederland(the Coalition of Animal Welfare Organisations in the Netherlands) and the Dierenbescherming (Dutch Animal Protection Organisation) to improve the well-being of non-domesticated exotic animals in the Netherlands.
• AAP is part of the coalition Wilde Dieren de Tent Uit (No Wild Animals in Circuses) that aims at ending the use of non-domesticated animals in circuses in the Netherlands.
• AAP works together with World Wildlife Fund trying to stop the illegal trade in Barbary Macaques from Morocco to Europe.
• AAP is a member of the World Society for the Protection of Animals. (WSPA)
