My volunteering at AAP Primadomus

To work with chimpanzees is not something that I would have been able to do, if not for the existence of Primadomus. Not everyone has the luck to have such a noble project of a long term lifecare centre for exotic animals in their town.

Santi en Primadomus I must admit that before I entered Primadomus my knowledge of chimpanzees was limited, however, it has always been a species that has fascinated me. With this all said I began to make contact with the group of nine chimpanzees that compose 'Patricks' group.

With more or less acceptance on their part, which is the norm in these cases, soon I took to them and luckily they quickly took to me. Day after day I was able to study indepth each of them and learn more about them. As an experience I am sure that so far, this has been the most gratifying and enriching experience of my life. I have discovered that they leave me completely astounded when I observe their behaviours, their gestures and customs. Definitively they are animals to which we owe very much and we have to take action in the conservation of their natural environment, so that centres such as these are no longer necessary.
