Exodus from the Mammal department |
|
In December and January a large number of the inhabitants of the mammal department have left AAP for an even better future elsewhere. The outplacement of our four Coatis, Koda, Nariz, Fristy and Taia was really special because these four gentlemen took the plane to the Bahamas! They now inhabit a charming residence in Ardastra Gardens in Nassau, a zoo with primarily South American and Asian animals. Ardastra Gardens is the only zoo in the Bahamas. The park plays an important role concerning nature education and welcomes approxiametely 15,000 students per year, who learn about the flora and fauna of their own region. We also must not forget the numbers of American tourists who during their Caribbean cruise want a taste of nature and thus learn about the importance of preservation. Wide View
Happy ever after...Lastly Kinkajou Cuxti Cuxti, who came to AAP in March of this year, will shortly be keeping a female company in the Polish zoo, Zoo Poznan. The introduction will certainly take some time because Kinkajous are solitary animals and don’t eagerly give their heart to another! Even so we are hoping for “Happy ever after!”
