Exceptional outplacement in Vesprem Zoo

Not only has Guidage found a fanatastic permanent new home, but our three chimpanzees Maggy, Sony and Toto can also enjoy a fine new life. In Vesprem zoo in Hongrary they have been united with two other chimpanzees.

Before the introduction could begin , our keeper , Michael Seres had a lot of work to do. This internationally renownd expert in the field of chimpanzee introductions, first had the difficult task of uniting four other chimpanzees who did not know eachother. When that succeeded, AAPs trio were able to make the trip to Hongary to be introduced to Taksony and Monika, a couple who are long inhabitants of Vesprem Zoo. Luckily, Taksony has not only a imposing posture but a peaceful character and therefore, he acccepted his new companions without too much trouble. Monika does not yet consider the newcomers as an asset, but hopefully that will change with time.

Sony, Taksony, Toto and Maggy togetherSuccesful Introduction

Sony, Maggy and Toto arrived together at AAP from Spain half a year ago. They form a close group, which can be a disadvantage when introducing new animals. An advantage is that they already have social experience but their closeness can mean that in threatening situations they cling together and avoid contact with unknown chimpanzees. Fortunately, Michael Serres was once again succesful with an introduction, so as can be seen in the photos.
