Barbary Macaques

Thousands of tourists will be informed at the Port of Algeciras to stop illegal trade of Barbary Macaques

From June 21st till July 8th AAP Foundation, along with DEPANA - League for the Defence of Natural Heritage and other partners * are launching a public awareness campaign at the Port of Algeciras to curb the illegal trade in baby Barbary Macaques. 18 volunteers who will come from Spain, Algeria and the Netherlands, are going to distribute brochures, sunshades for cars and a children's story (explaining the problems of having a Barbary Macaque as a pet) to the thousands of travelers and tourists with destination Morocco, with an appeal to not buy these magnificent animals. An informative documentary will also be displayed in the Maritime Station screens and the esplanade of access to ferries.
